Point of Care Rapid Testings on Site
Some rapid tests can be done in our clinics as well as on site, in your Hotel or on the Ships.
We can perform the following Point of Care Rapid Tests:

Why this is important?
In confirmed COVID-19 or Influenza infection cases specific antiviral treatment may be indicated and provided to shorten the course of disease.
Rapid Streptococcus A Ag test will help us to diagnose a true bacterial infection, so we will not treat all sore throats with antibiotics unnecessarily. Conservative use of antibiotics prevents such complications as antibiotic resistance, dysbacteriosis or C. difficile overgrowth in the bowels.
The rapid urine testing may help to diagnose kidney diseases, urinary tract infections, kidney stones and may catch a previously unknown proteinuria and diabetes.
The semi-quantitative CRP test is a sepsis parameter and will help the decision making in uncertain infection cases, when antibiotic use may be indicated.
Troponin is a component of the heart muscle, and may be released into and detected in the blood when damage to the heart tissues occur, such as in myocardial infarction or myocarditis. Thus we may be able to detect silent heart attacks and ensure patient safety.
The D-dimer test helps to exclude the presence of deep vein thrombosis and consequent pulmonary embolism.

The full range of Laboratory Studies are available including Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Special Immunology. The most important and relevant studies, such as blood counts can be done with urgent processing.
Blood can be drawn anytime, even in the evenings and on weekends. We may collect the samples in our laboratories, medical suites or even at your desired location such as your hotel or ship. Urgent transportation of patients to the laboratory and delivery of samples are organized in a state of the art fashion.
We do routine stool Salmonella testing for the Ship Crew as part of the Fit to Work Certifications.
